The Swift Fox (Vulpes velox) family finally posed for us on the morning of my sixth day at their den in the Pawnee National Grassland. Well, it's most of the family. We saw the dog, or male, on the first couple of days, but he was very skittish. He usually just popped out of the den and immediately headed away to a safe distance to make sure that we weren't pursuing him, then continued away from the den.
