Jan and I, along with three friends of ours, went out to Gold Butte yesterday afternoon to visit the fascinating area known as Little Finland which has amazing eroded sandstone formations. The cloud layer turned out to be thicker than forecast, so I spent the majority of my time looking for intimate compositions that didn't include the sky. As soon as I saw this set of contour lines formed by thin layers of sandstone with alternating colors, I stopped and worked to turn it into a compelling composition. Enjoy!
