I concentrated on intimate landscape images with wildflowers again yesterday morning and found this wonderful clump of Rosy Paintbrush or Split-Leaf Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja rhexifolia) with Alpine Avens or Ross's Avens (Acomastylis rossii turbinata) near a nice lichen-covered rock. The light intermittent breeze was a challenge to work with, and it took more than an hour to find the best composition and make a sharp image. I used the tilt motion of the 45mm Tilt/Shift lens to align the plane of focus through the avens in the foreground and the paintbrush in the center of the image to get the dominant foreground objects in focus.
