I wasn't planning to do any photography in Grand Teton National Park yesterday because the forecast was for 100% sky cover all day with snow or rain. So, I slept in a bit then got ready to move to Yellowstone National Park in time for the fresh snow and before the winter conditions ended. With the warm temperatures during the day, the snow's melting fast! On my way out of the Colter Bay complex where I had camped, I saw this friendly red fox relaxing atop a snow pile, and I just had to stop. I pulled over to the side of the two lanes that were plowed and set up. It was great to be able to photograph a wildlife subject from slightly below its eye level while I was comfortably standing. :) The bright overcast created fantastic diffuse light, and the evergreen forest provided a nice background. It doesn't get much better than that!
