I returned to my favorite area near Silverton yesterday morning and because it wasn't raining I used my 17mm Tit/Shift lens to improve upon the images I had made the evening before.

I also returned to the same area in the afternoon and focused on individual blooms and clusters of blooms. My favorite image of the day is of a Sulphur Paintbrush among Rosy Paintbrush. The background of an image is nearly as important as the subject. In this image, I carefully placed my tripod to position the Sulphur Paintbrush between the two close Rosy Paintbrush and so that the Rosy Paintbrush in the distance filled in the "empty space" above the blooms in the foreground.
