Snow Pillows on the Dolores River in the San Juan National Forest, Colorado

We had a fantastic time yesterday photographing snow pillows on the Dolores River in the San Juan National Forest. It had snowed heavily the day before and the trees were still covered with snow which gives the image a sense of freshness. The bright overcast helped bring out the texture in the snow without creating harsh shadows. It doesn't get much better than that for photographing a winter scene!
