This image of a three-banded plover was taken at one of my favorite locations in Kruger National Park, South Africa, the Biyamiti Dam. The dam has a causeway immediately downstream, and it's possible to photograph from a vehicle at practically water level. I just love this image because it was taken at about the bird's eye level, the bird is aligned with the plane of focus, and the surroundings are extremely uniform. It doesn't get much better than that!
