We went out last night to look for black-footed ferrets in Buffalo Gap National Grassland in the Conata Basin of South Dakota. We found one ferret that had really distinct and unattractive marking applied by the wildlife biologist, so I didn't photograph it. Later, we found a cooperative badger, and I was really excited to photograph it.

This is superb, James. I've never seen a badger and appreciate your good fortune at getting this shot.
