Cape Giraffe in Imfolozi Game Reserve, South Africa

Our last morning in Imfolozi Game Reserve, South Africa, was spectacular! It started off with two male giraffe fighting right by the road, and we photographed them for more than half an hour! Then we watched some African wild dogs in the distance — the first time I had seen wild dog in that park and only the second time Jan had seen them ever. Then we photographed a mother cheetah with two older cubs.

My favorite image of the day is of the two male giraffe fighting. Because we were so close to them, I was able to use my 70-200 to capture them against the sky.
