Yellow Warbler near in Palmer, and on my way to Tanzania

During our trip to Alaska in 2009, we stayed with some photographer friends of ours. D took us to some of his favorite birding spots, and I was able to capture a nice image of a Yellow Warbler.

More excitement on the way to Tanzania

We pushed back from the gate on time at ABQ (Albuquerque International Sunport) then got deiced on the tarmac. Then we sat there because the right engine wouldn't start because it was so cold: about -8°F (-22°C). We went back to the gate and mechanics heated up two stuck valves. We pushed back from the gate again about an hour and 40 minutes after the scheduled time. Fortunately my (original) layover here in Atlanta was quite long so I have some time before I head to Amsterdam.

Nice warbler. Always amazes me that they can land on a prickly branch like that and not get hurt!

D sure found us the warblers on that day! Even I got a few pix of those flitty little things. This one is quite sweet!
