Mt. Rundle in Banff National Park

Continuing a look back at some oldies but goodies, we stopped in Banff National Park on our way up to Alaska. Banff is in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and is one of my favorite parks. The mountains remind me of Grand Teton National Park in the US, but they go on for mile, er, kilometer after kilometer.

One evening, conditions were looking good for a photograph of Mt. Rundle reflected in Vermillion Lake so we headed over there to get ready for sunset. The breeze was stronger than I would have liked because it stirred up the water to prevent a great reflection, but I like the way the pinkish clouds fit well with the shape of the mountains.
